The fastest way to reach me is email:
clauseandcollect@docsanddeadlines.com
I read everything. I reply to most things within a few days, though it can take longer during busy weeks.
What I'd especially like to hear about
Corrections. If a threshold has moved, a statute has been amended, an agency has replaced its complaint form, a small claims limit or filing fee has gone up, or an interest cap is not what a page says it is, please tell me — with the jurisdiction and, if you have it, the link or the date you saw it. Freelancer protection law is being written and amended right now, and someone who filed a complaint last month knows before my next re-check does. Corrections get applied, the page's checked-on date is re-stamped, and the change is noted.
Gaps. If you got stuck on one specific step — a clause you could not parse, a vendor portal that would not let you register, a judgment you won and could not turn into money, an agency process that behaved differently from its own instructions — that is worth writing up. Tell me the step and the state or city. Firsthand accounts of what an agency or a clerk's office actually did are the hardest thing to find anywhere and the most useful thing you can send.
Questions. I cannot read your contract and I cannot tell you whether a statute covers you — that is legal advice and I am not a lawyer, so the answer by email would be the same as the answer on the site. But if you are stuck on a practical step in the sequence and think I may have hit the same wall, ask.
What I can't help with
- Reviewing, drafting, or interpreting your contract, or telling you what a clause means for you
- Telling you whether a statute applies to your situation, or whether you have a claim
- Any question that needs a lawyer licensed in your state — including anything with a deadline on it
- Collecting a debt, contacting a client on your behalf, or acting for you in any capacity
- Tax, accounting, or worker-classification determinations
- Requests to publish sponsored posts, paid guest articles, or link insertions
